For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

When You Are Old And Grey by William Butler Yeats [07 Mar 2012|04:07pm]
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

Alan Watts - Madness [07 Mar 2012|03:11pm]

What does the shape of a tree mean? What do clouds mean? What is the meaning of the way the stars are scattered through the sky? Of course we’ve tried to make sense of the stars, to project upon the scattering mythological forms. But actually, music might express the arrangement of those stars more correctly. Doo, doo, doo. Doo doo doo. And what would that be saying? What is Bach saying? Ahh na na dee dee dee dee, na la da da da. What’s the meaning of that?

I usually know if I'll like a poem
from the first two lines.

What about you?
She asks the silence.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow [06 Mar 2012|10:43pm]
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high, there’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that’s where you'll find me. Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh why can't I? If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh why can't I?

Norwegian Wood by The Beatles [06 Mar 2012|09:52pm]
I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me
She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair

I sat on the rug, biding my time, drinking her wine
We talked until two and then she said, "It's time for bed."

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll [06 Mar 2012|09:46pm]
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" -- Alice

She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron [06 Mar 2012|09:03pm]
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

Life Is But A Dream by Lewis Carroll [06 Mar 2012|08:50pm]
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die;

Ever drifting down the stream--
Lingering in the golden gleam--
Life, what is it but a dream?

Let’s go to the sea.
We’ll love the waves and we’ll love each other,
and there will be no difference between the two.
